I have a job now! Part time office administration. I've just worked my third day, and so far I've done a lot of filing, data entry, and paper shredding. That's ok, I find those things far more enjoyable than the other career open to me: call centres. It's been fun so far, it's a small office but the three other people there are really cool.

Also, hopefully, Aidan picked up our car today! We have a car! It'll be the first car we've actually bought, rather than use contacts and our parents. It's a big independance thing, and it's actually a good car rather than the two bombs we've had previously. So we're pretty wrapt with that. I say "hopefully" because Aidan would have left for work about an hour ago, before I got home, so I haven't spoken to him since I left early this morning.

The only thing we don't have is somewhere to live. Aidan went to look at a townhouse yesterday, and we're going to put in an application for it, but apparently about 40 other people are also applying for it, so we'll see how that goes.

Anyway, I'm going to pop over to Facebook and with my brother HAPPY BIRTHDAY! He turns 29 today, the old bugger. Take care all!!

Ah, I fully understand the house hunting fun.
Why does there have to be 50 other people trying for every house I apply for?
Is it the same 50 (extremely frustrated) people each time?

Excellent, it is good to hear that things seem to be going well. I find that shreading can be fun and relaxing. As you progress you will get more complicated things to do.

Your lucky your not moving to Melbourne. These days most rental properties are only open for inspection on one day and they can easily get up to eighty people and so you can not get a good look.

Take care,
Andrew

Em & Andrew - I think the same or so people just keep stalking house-hunters and showing up at all the inspections to piss them off... either that, or every real estate agent hires 50 people to pretend to be interested, to start a bidding war and get more for each property...

Unreal! I am so wrapped for you that you got a job Stace, keeping you busy too. Sounds wonderful you both get a nice little car. We got our first ever brand new car last year , the little Mazda 2, we haven;t looked back with it. I use it when I work in town and we both use it for our longer trips to work. Otherwise we got a station wagon for our family car.
I heard it on the rado the other day that for investors Canberra is the best place to buy because of the high ask for properties by tennants. It must be true.
Fingers Crossed you find something Stace :)

yay a job! Oh I still need one of those, I can hear the call centres crying out for me...AAARGH!

Was watching the most amazing To Buy or not to Buy this morning with a '50s enthusiast couple looking for a retro '50s house and there were just about the most amazing and hideous things in the world in all the houses, but because they got so happy over it all I began to forget that they were hideous and began to think it was all wonderful and glamorous. Bleurgh.

Well anyway, something to think about while you look round houses.

Hey, Stace! It is Jewel here. I haven't fallen of the face of the earth. *grin* It is wonderful news that you've gotten a job and like it and your co-workers. AND a car is in the getting! I'll be praying that you two can find just the right "home" and soon! I can't imagine moving as you and Aidan have had to do, so I'll REALLY be praying for you! Tell Aidan I said Hello!! ((HUGS))

So now you've got a job, you've got your husband back, you've got a car...but you have no place to live.

Does that about sum it up?

How's the job? Are you still liking filing? How's the husband? What have you got planned for the crazy weekend with Andrew?
