It has not been a good couple of days in terms of illnesses and injuries! First we have Chris in hospital (check the comments on his latest blog post for updates on his condition, thanks to Donn, Gerry, and Ponita), then I did my nearly-passing-out trick again at work yesterday morning, and now... yes, Aidan has come through for the trifecta! Late last night he did something inexplicable, and managed to hurt his ankle quite severely while doing nothing more strenuous than walking past the vacuum cleaner. We thought at first it was broken, and took a taxi down to the hospital immediately... but after waiting in Emergency for five and a half hours it was determined to be just a very bad sprain. I do mean bad. He can't put any weight on it, he certainly can't walk. So, we stumbled back home at 5am, and now I'm playing nurse to this rather unwilling patient! He's never been much good at being looked after; he's usually playing Dr Aidan to my Damsel In Distress. However, I managed to make him a passable breakfast of bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast this morning - not my forte, since I'm a cereal person myself, but apparently quite edible. And now I've got him sitting quietly on the couch reading like a good invalid!

Ouch, Aiden! I know from first hand experience how much a bad sprain hurts! I've done it to both ankles... thankfully not at the same time.
Make sure he gets physio for that sprain, Stace. It makes a huge difference in the long run as far as healing goes.
Hope *you* are doing okay. No more passing out, okay? We've had quite enough of that with Chris over here...
Take care - both of you!
Hi Ponita... we hadn't even thought of physio, but it's a good idea. He's broken that ankle before too, so all the more reason to try to look after it!
I'm doing my best not to pass out... it happened a few times on the bus to work so I stopped taking the bus; yesterday morning it started in the TAXI on the way to work!! haha I can't win :P Happily my little episodes aren't anywhere near as serious as Chris'.
Poor Aiden, I so know how sore that can be.
Good nurse you are Stace..keep the patient still and elevate that foot :)
Aiden..I hope it repairs ASAP mate :)
Oh dear! It sounds like you need a nanny to look after the both of you. I wont charge much, and might require more substantial bedding, but the only type of cooked breakfast I make involves mushrooms and no eggs.
Keep him piled high with books and movies, but dont work too hard, we dont want you to have any more spells.
Take care
A.
We seem to be ok now :) Aidan says he can now limp from one end of the house to the other without too much trouble, and I'm doing my best to take it easy.
leg is a lot better, still need a med clearance before returning to work....
I don't think i can get used to sitting around with my feet up though.
Aidan
