Just found a pretty interesting page showing to-scale pictures of all sorts of buildings, ships, planes, science-fictional starships, animals, you name it. Very interesting to see the comparative sizes - I will never think of a blue whale as "big" again, after seeing it right under a battleship seven times it's length!
Today was a great day at work. Four sales, totalling $1300!!! That'll be about $250 in my pocket from today alone! If I can get 2 sales tomorrow and another 2 on Friday... I'm cruising! Today is the day I discovered I could do this.

Zeus just fell in the water feature!!! It's covered in waterweed and he thought it was solid... so he stepped right on, and went right under!!! Poor stupid kitty! He dried off amazingly quickly though, and he's fine except for a certain tendency to avoid water features...

I have a job interview for a receptionist position tomorrow morning. I don't even know if I'll take the job if I'm offered it - I was talking to Nick (my supervisor) this afternoon and he said that he'll give me a one-on-one training session tomorrow, he reckons he can double my sales. If I can do well at telemarketing, by God I'll keep at it. Commission only pay means, of course, that if you don't do well you get shit money, but if you do well, you get bloody good money.
I think I'd like to learn to play the saxophone. It's a beautiful sounding instrument, and I would love to be able to make those beautiful sounds. They're expensive though.

Don't bother buying toys for a kitten. He will get much more amusement out of scrunched up Subway wrappers, ribbons, and bottles of eczema cream. Come to think of it, anything you wave in front of his face will do.

Dave's just done up a Very Nice Picture of Zeus, framed and everything, looking cute as a button - not that I think buttons are all that cute. Perhaps "cute as a kitten" would be more appropriate, if predictable.
The photo was taken in our backyard - that big scary place Zeus has only just been introduced to. There's a dog in the yard next door, and Zeus goes all big and puffy when he hears it. That alone should keep him from straying out of our yard!
He's getting bigger already, I can feel it when I pick him up. He's heavier than he used to be, and his face is a bit bigger and more knowing - less innocent and awe-struck.

From "Stace's Life On-the-Line", looks like this has become "Zeus's life"!

We've just set up a Java Chat Client for #onlytrivia, it's pretty neat. Probably largely useless, but at least it's there! And for people who would like to play trivia at work, but who's computers won't allow the use of any new software (eg, an IRC client), it's perfect!
It is accessible via the #onlytrivia homepage, and it's probably best to use that link, as it will provide you with all the other links as well as providing a link back to the main page.

We just had Dave's dad Mark and his girlfriend Tina over for dinner. It went off quite well - I had been a little nervous as to conversation topics, as I don't really know Tina all that well. Come to think of it I don't know Mark all that well either, but I know him more than Tina. Anyway, it went good. Tina is somewhat afraid of Zeus, something I hadn't considered but was not surprised by - perhaps biased by my preconceptions of Asians, but is it a preconception if it's true?

Take a look at this Honda Ad, it's absolutely brilliant! Apparently it took eight months or something ridiculous like that, to get it perfect, and over 600 takes!
Humans must be the most emotionally complex fools ever to have existed - not just on this Earth, but anywhere, anytime. We have the ability to feel deliriously happy, and we have the ability to be depressed to the point of suicide. I refer not just to humans as a race, but to each of us as individuals. Nobody can honestly say that they've never been incredibly happy at least once, and nobody can say they haven't wondered what life is all for. You live, you do things, you die in the end no matter what.

Reincarnation is the cruelest joke. To finally escape from the world and all it's pain, only to be sent back. How hilariously depressing.

As for an afterlife, in heaven or hell or whatever you happen to believe in... it seems to involve harps and joy and God's right hand, but no sex or revenge or endless bookshelves full of good quality science fiction.

Kittens are so adorably stupid. They seem to be convinced that every inanimate object is alive - and what's more, it must be killed! Look! Network cable! Evil! *pouce* Gotcha! *Network cable does nothing* Think you can fool me?! I know you're bluffing! Just playing dead! *pouce again* Weee this is fun!
Having "killed" the network cable, he now tries to "kill" my tube of eczema cream - which, incidentally, he also killed this morning, and last night too. Kitty logic. If it's dead, kill it again! What, just to be sure? Well, how else can you be sure?

Psycho kitten!
I've just uploaded a picture of my best friend Sandra and her sister Danielle, one of my few friends who spend little or no time online (as opposed to the rest of my friends who spend most of their time there), so I don't see her very often. It's a pity, but whenever I have an excuse to head down Euroa way I make an effort to see her. She lives in Seymour which is fairly close - by Australian bush standards, anyway - only about half an hour's drive.
Sandra is two days older than me, so we are both pisces. This is where the Zodiac falls down, as you couldn't find two people less alike than Sandi and I! When we met in early highschool, she was tough, a loner, violent, and feared. I was weak, shy, and the lowest in the pecking order! We have eached changed each other, I believe, over the last eight years or so; she has mellowed a little, while I have found confidence. Odd, how people change and you don't notice until you look back...

Now here's something worth thinking about...

If God is all-powerful, then the Devil must be nothing more than a darkness in the mind of God. But if the Devil is something real and separate, then perfection is impossible, and there can be no God... except for the aspirations of fallen angels...

(Taken from Mountain of Black Glass by Tad Williams [Otherland series].)
It's a bloody excellent read, by the way. I'm currently reading it for the second or third time - I love owning books, and thus being able to re-read at my lesuire!

I just found the lyrics to Do Your Ears Hang Low, remember that song from Playschool? I was singing it, for no reason I know, and Dave didn't know it, so I did a quick Google search and found it!

Also I've just scanned in an envelope we found when we moved in here, with a weird note written on it. Definately worth a look, it's quite weird and rather funny!
How in the name of Zeus's butthole...

Zeus has a nice butthole!

For a cat, anyway...

Zeus has been learning lessons all week.
Don't try to eat from people-food plates.
Don't walk on the kitchen table or Stace's keyboard.
    Use your litter box.
I just learned my own little lesson... Don't EVER offer him food on my finger!!! He doesn't realise my finger isn't part of the food... CRUNCH, I felt his sharp little teeth go right through my skin on both sides of my finger, and now it's bleeding like you wouldn't believe. It's not his fault, I don't blame him for it... he was just trying to eat what I'd offered him! But I'll never do that again!

I just found a very funny article/review and I just thought I'd share it!

Sunday, April 13, 2003

Me and Dave bought a kitten!!! Here's a picture of him, he's called Zeus and he's gorgeous!!!

Monday, April 07, 2003

Telemarketing is surprisingly painless! Two sales today, and that was after everyone was going on about "Nobody expects you to get sales on your first day", so I was the most surprised out of all the surprised people when I sold $700 in one afternoon. *beam*

Sunday, April 06, 2003

There's a bloody annoying loud party nextdoor. It's 2am for fuck's sake. I made Dave call the police and complain about the noise. Apparently they've already had a few complaints. With any luck someone'll get arrested, that'll sure break the party up. Meh.

Wow, apparently Senator Richard Alston spent $4 million of our money on this website. I could have done that site in a couple of hours! That's bloody hilarious. Senator Alston was the one who bought my parents house - yes, that's right, this money-wasting fool spends his weekends in the house I grew up in!
Seems like half the bloody coalition deaths so far in Iraq have been accidents! Michael Kelly died in a "military vehicle accident", there have been incidents of so-called friendly fire (although I don't think any fire is very friendly), and aircraft accidents. Gross incompetence, that's what I call it! Also rather hilarious (no offence intended to anybody who has loved ones over there or who has lost loved ones - personally I'm totally uninvolved, and I tend to look at it objectively). I wonder if the Iraqis have actually killed any of ours yet?!

I'm only 20 years old, and I've already bollocksed my life up. I quit my TAFE course, I've quit all my bloody jobs, except the ones I got fired from, for fucking stupid reasons, why can't I just quit life. That's my style. Take the easy way out, quit instead of making any bloody effort or taking any smegging responsibility. I disgust myself, and I hate myself, I am the embodiment of everything pathetic. I have no skills and little knowledge, much apathy and more lethargy. A thousand years ago I'd have died through my own carelessness and thoughtlessness by now, thank you natural selection, one less fucked up moron lives to breed.
