I survived my first motorbike lesson! Actually I got to ride a scooter instead of a geared bike, because I told the guy I was looking at buying a scooter. I didn't know I'd be able to choose, so it's great that I'm able to learn and practice on a machine so similar to what I will eventually own. Anyway, the lesson went really well, I was scared and nervous about a few things, but managed to complete all manoeuvres successfully! I fell once - and this is embarrassing - I wasn't even moving at the time! I was straddling the scooter, both feet on the ground, then I tried to kick the stand up... I couldn't find the kickstand, lost my balance, and fell! Not to worry, Scooter and I are both fine apart from a small graze on my knee! So tonight I have my theory class and test, and then next Sunday is the practical skills test, back on the scooter. I'm now confident that I'll pass just fine!

I had you pegged as a Biker Babe four years ago. It was just a matter of time. ;)

Whitesnake, I'm buying a zippy little scooter of some sort... I highly doubt I'll be on a Harley anytime soon!!!

Thanks Keshi :)

Frank, I always thought you were very perceptive. Now I know you're just weird :)

Wow, how cool! I've never learned to ride a motorbike or scooter. This may be a dumb question but is it very different from navigating a bicycle?

Do you have any pictures of you falling down on your scooter and giving yourself another owee?

(*Runs away*)

Best of luck with it, Stace. Are scooters common down there? They're very rare here.

Menchie: I haven't ridden a bike for a very long time... but yes, I think riding a scooter is quite different. It's a lot heavier, and much faster!!! Also scooters don't get you much excercise. Hehe!

WW: They're not that rare here, lots of students and geeky people ride scooters! However I first got the idea in Rome, where scooters are literally EVERYWHERE. And no, I made Aidan go away before he could take any pictures!!! :)

Hey, from a former motorcycylist, welcome to the ranks! I've often thought I'd like to have a motorscooter, Stace, what with the price of gas here nowadays! But I don't know if the legs could maneuver as needed. *feeble grin* AND learning Russian? And the social butterfly, too! Sounds like life is good, Stace, as it should be for you and Aidan. ((HUGS))
