Today was the 28 week midwife visit, primarily to have my injection of Anti-D.

Here I am this morning:

And today's details are as follows:

Fundal height: 28cm (the size of the uterus, used to assess foetal growth and development) - this is perfect for this stage of pregnancy.
Foetal heart rate: 148 - also normal.
Edinburgh Depression Scale: 9 - apparently anything over 12 requires referral to Mental Health, so I'm still good!
Glucose Load: 6.3 - I have no idea what this actually measures, or what units that 6.3 should be expressed in. But apparently it's within the normal range and I don't have gestational diabetes.

So everything is going well, which is good to know. I figure, anyway, that as long as I can still feel Elspeth kicking away like crazy and there's no abdominal cramping or bleeding, she'll be right!

Am glad for you that the results are all normal Stace! And you're right, fetal movement is a good indicator that the baby's doing well. :D

Menchie - How is your bump going? You must be getting quite close to being due - six weeks or so??

Cazzie - Aidan does that, he talks to my belly just as if she can understand. It's sweet :)

I thought that you were going to name her Elspeth, not Fundal. It is your choice, but I would have voted for Elspeth.

They do test a number of things dont they. I'm glad that I did not visit for too long or your Edinburgh Scale would have been through the roof.
It is good to hear that things are going well.

Take care,
Andrew

Andrew - Ok, if you insist, I'll call her Elspeth. Probably your visit was the reason my Edinburgh score was so low! All the questions are about "the last few days", rather than "in general".

Jewel - Hello! People do keep saying I look well; I can't help but wonder how else I would look? I'm pregnant, not diseased!! haha

Stace, you're gorgeous... and I love the blonde fuzz on your head! You look in great shape and have a lovely glow that comes through in the pic.

Not all women look great... especially if they have lots of morning sickness and a bunch of other kids to look after... then they look plum worn out!

Glad all is well. (hugs)
