Ellie and I went down to the lake today for a picnic and some fun.

So many leaves! Only two hands and one mouth! What to do?!

The weather was nice, so we stayed down there just playing for a couple of hours.

She also tried to chase some magpies! They all got away, though.

She kept trying to shove leaves up my nose, in my eyes, and into my mouth. Yummy! I think she got more in my mouth than her own!

LOL, so cute, the fresh air is the best for you both. Makes you both sleep better :)
All those wonderful textures of the park...so good for the senses :)

My mum was telling me about something she read that went into detail on how the lack of exposure to the natural environment has detrimental effects on kids. Psychological and emotional development is apparently impaired by just not getting outside, not seeing and doing outdoorsy stuff, or something!

Yeah, I agree with your Mum for sure Stace. I loved being out doors as a kid, and if school was out doors I am certain I would have been right there. Mia is the very same kind of kid I was. She is such a greenie!
I think that if I was to make her sit inside for a whole day she would go nuts! Even when it is cold and raining she is out there doing something.
Today it was a bit windy and threatening to rain. But it was warm too...very weird weather. I made the kids turn all the electronic stuff off and get outside. We had a ball in our veggie gardens...hubby is just loving it too.
